Travelling To Thai With Expired Passport

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My wife's passport has expired and we were planning a trip to London to renew it ! On reading bits from your brill site, it was mentioned that a Thai national can travel from London to Thailand with an expired passport and renew it there!

Is this correct?

Many thanks guys n girls.

Moved to Thai visas etc.

Yes, a Thai national can travel back to her own country on an expired passport.

She cannot leave Thailand on an expired passport and to get a new passport she needs to be registered on a houshold registration in Thailand. For the rest it will only take a couple of days to recieve a new Thai passport.

Applying for a Thai passport in London will take longer.
