Hello, hearing of the Buddhist holiday tomorrow made me wonder if its just a religious thing or if it's a complete public holiday and extends to the closure of post offices and embassies. I'm in Pattaya and need to go to Bangkok and was planning on tomorrow but wanted to make sure before I leave. Thanks in advance.

Embassies will be closed tomorrow, as will the post office.

It is a Holiday tomorrow and the Post Office will be closed, the Embassies will normally be closed too.

According to my diary it is a Government and a Bank holiday, but why not check your embassy web site, they should have a note of it, just to be sure?

Post offices are closed 16th and 17th. For postal services, you may find a private operator open in a shopping mall.

I need to collect a letter and then take it to the embassy so if the post office is closed it can't be done. Thanks everyone, you just saved me a wasted trip.
