May 21, 201115 yr I will be attenidng a TEFL course and they state they will help me apply for a Catagory B visa. I checked the Thai consulate site and this is what it says: Category "B" (business – paid employment) – this category entitles a person: a) who is employed by a non Thai company to conduct business in Thailand b ) who is employed by a Thai company to work in Thailand Does this mean i will be able to gain paid employment on this visa or is it only valid for the company originally applied with? May 21, 201115 yr All employment in Thailand needs a work permit, regardless of the type of visa with which the foreigner entered. Therefore, if you arrive in Thailand with a non-B visa and later want to work, you need to apply for and receive a work permit. The work permit application is usually done by the employer, who has to supply a lot of documentation regarding his company. The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
