Visa Expired?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I got a double entry visa with claudios service in cambodia at the 8th of february.

I got back to thailand on the 8th and extended the 60 day stamp for another 30 days at the immigration in chang wattana.

On the 6th of May i left the country to go to germany for 2 weeks.

Yesterday i tried to re-enter the kingdom through the airport, thinking i have a double entry tourist visa.

The officer looks at the visa and shows me the "Enter before 6 May 2011" note and says the visa is expired.

Is my visa really expired or is the Enter before 6 May 2011 just for the first entry?

Your visa expired on the 6th as all entries must have been made by that date.

Amazing. I made a border run to Cambodia on the 7th of Feb with the same service for another 90 days on my multi-entry Non O and another on the 6th of May...so I nay have even seen you then.

Anyway, just for information...all such visas have an entry when you get it that says something like, "Must be used before (date stamped)". The visa...all entries..must be used by that date. The visa expires after the stamped date, no more entries on that visa allowed.

What can be done is to make border run on the day before the visa expires. You exit Thailand, turn around and enter Thailand again. When you do that, you get another (whatever the time period is for your visa type) days stamped in your passport.

But you have to be careful about that "must be used before" date...because that's the date the visa expires.
