The explosions occurred in Fuzhou City, located in China's Jiangxi Province, between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. local time, striking the city's procuratorate office, the Linchuan district government office, and the district's food and drug administration, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. According to witnesses, the explosion at the Linchuan district government building came from a car parked around 100 meters (328 feet) from the office, destroying some 10 vehicles. Search and rescue teams arrived at the scene and recovered one body outside the office building. The blast also injured a total of seven people, but one of the four who were reported in serious condition later succumbed to his wounds at a local hospital. Three others suffered minor injuries. Fatal victims in the other two explosions were yet to be confirmed, while the cause of the incident remains uncertain. However, initial reports indicate that an angry farmer could have detonated the explosions. -- © BNO News All rights reserved 2011-05-26
