paulchiangmai
I am interested in having a go at making a drop of red wine but am not sure if the Chiang Mai climate might be too hot and kill the yeast. I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has or is doing it. Thanks.
briley
Yeast survives just about up to 43C so it is unlikely your liquid will get that hot in Chiang Mai unless you leave it in the sunshine.
afarang
Should not be a problem in C.M. .I have friend who makes his own wine in Southern Buriram , which is considerably hotter than C.M. Good Luck.
CMX
Egad! Next I'll read that it is illegal to make, for personal consumption: Beer, whiskey, rum, gin or such. Or that the reason that import duties on alcoholic drinks are high is because native manufacturers are successfully opposing lower duties, with Asean neighbors, with regard to boooooooooze, in order to keep their prices artificially high through oligopoly pricing. Cannot be so! But here's the question we have to ask ourselves. What would a different government do? Or not? To which party should one send best wishes? bazmlb
Making of Alcohol without a license is illegal, only a 100% Thai owned Entity can apply to make alcohol in Thailand. (even for personal consumption). Posts discussing moderation have also been removed.
