True Satelitte And Windows Media Cetner

I am going to get set up with true satellite to watch football and rugby. I think I will need to record the rugby as I will be working when the games are on. I have discovered I have windows media center on my computer. Is it possible for me to get the true tv on my computer so I can record it or will the signal be scrambled? Can I plug my computer into the set top box (via usb tuner). I don't understand it so any help will be appreciated. Also I am open to any other method.

Cheers

Does your computer have any support for the smart card to decrypt the signal?

Alternatively just connect an AV cable R/W/Y from your True box to the

av card in the computer and let the computer record.

You stated your computer has Media Centre sw?

I now see it is a notebook, Acer Aspire 4750

and does not have any way to input video.

So I think you are out of luck.

With a desktop and a decent AV card yuo could feed the video and audio

signals from the True box to the computer

Then you configure the media centre sw to know

1. what input to record from

2. When to record

3. Where to store the data

... or you get yourself a Dreambox with a harddisk and record there. These files can then be played back from the Dreambox to the TV or transferred via browser interface to your computer. VLC can playback these recordings on your computer.
