Syrian ambassador to France resigns over violence

PARIS (BNO NEWS) -- Syria's ambassador to France, Lamia Chakkour, on Tuesday announced she is resigning from her position in protest of violence against anti-government protesters in Syria.

Chakkour announced her resignation on France 24 television, saying the "cycle of violence has become intolerable." She said her resignation would be effective immediately.
