Reports: Dozens of bodies found at Texas property, FBI investigating

LIBERTY COUNTY, TEXAS (BNO NEWS) -- Authorities are investigating the discovery of up to 30 bodies at a property in Liberty County, Texas, local media reported on Tuesday.

KPRC-TV and other local media said the bodies were found at a property in Hull, an unincorporated community in Liberty County, not far from the city of Hardin. The reports said there were between 25 and 30 bodies at the property, many of them children.

The Liberty County Sheriff's Office did not immediately comment on the reports, but the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed it was assisting local authorities.

"The FBI has been asked to assist the Liberty County Sheriff's Office," said Kim Barkhausen of the FBI. "We are in an assistance role so therefore it is their investigation."

At this time no bodies have been found, Texas police did a walk around the property last night and found nothing.

At the moment police are waiting for a search warrant before conducting a more thorough search.
