Kananga Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I may be moving to Bangkok next year. Does anyone know if there are any tax benefits to having a corporate lease and my company pay the rent directly to the landlord over me receiving a housing allowance from the company and signing a personal lease and paying the landlord directly? I would asume that by receiving an allowance that amount would be subject to normal income tax rates?
InterestedObserver Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Company paid housing allowance or its value is taxable income.
stgrhe Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Company paid housing allowance or its value is taxable income. True, the tax is 12.5% of the apprised value.
PattayaParent Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Not a tax benefit but if in the company name and they were to fire you then they would be resonsible for any financial penalties imposed by the contract instead of you in the case it's in your name.
