June 20, 201115 yr Does anyone know if there is a law or a rule when it comes to time frame for car or vehicle registration transfer? What i mean is, example, if i buy a used car what time frame LEGALLY is there to transfer the name? In Australia by law it has to be done within 14 days of the sale, so is there a law or rule in Thailand? and is there a link to such law/rule in either languages english or thai. thanks in advance
June 20, 201115 yr for new vehicles it is 30 days/3.000km from delivery/1st Insurance date for second hand I have never seen a rule/law, but it is in buyers interest to become the owner asap. and in sellers interest to not remain the owner of a vehicle no longer under control, to stay out of legal trouble. If last owner as foreign, transfer must take place while permit to stay is valid If last owner was Thai, transfer must take place before ID card is replaced or name changed All agreements in Thailand are "pre purchase/pre sale" so I assume sale is not actually valid before transfer has taken place
