Some time ago there was an explanation how to download Music casstes to a computer so they could be converted to a file the computer could play.Is this explanation to be found on the forum somewhere?

Personally I would just d/l the music from the internet, unless of course its rare or obscure music not easily found.

The easiest way to do this is to hook your cassette player to your soundcard, you will also need recording sofware, Audacity is simple and easy enough to use.

Basically once you have connected the cassette to your soundcard, open audacity and click on record then press play on the cassette player.

You can either save the cassette as one wav file, or press stop recording and save after each song.

Its a long winded process (pain in the ass actually) because it all has to be done in real time, eg a 90 min casette will have to be played at normal speed, hence it takes at least 90 minutes to record and save on your computer, this takes me back to my opening sentance.
