We have a bid from a local mover here in New York City to move our household goods to Thailand. At the BKK end they will be subcontracting to Seabra Movers for customs clearance and local delivery. Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with this company?

Go to this site http://www.movingscam.com/ and look up the company/ies you are interested in. I am going through the same process now searching and learning about the process as well.

2 companies, BOTH REFERRED to me by the thaivisa site through a link here (which is then sent I guess to http://intlmovers.com/) have turned out to be some of the worst possible choices according to many reviews AND THE BBB.

One company is Uniity Movers http://www.movingscam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1931 , http://www.bbb.org/new-jersey/business-reviews/travel-and-moving-services/unity-van-lines-in-carlstadt-nj-29004855

The other that has so far responded is Echo Trans World. http://www.movingscam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=63467

I just found the email listing who I've been referred to. Can't see where Unity came from...

  • Midwest International Shipping ---> nice one too (sarcasm)
  • Echo Trans World Inc --> see above
  • Sterling International
  • IntlMOVE Inc.
  • Rainier Overseas Movers, Inc.
  • Atlantic Relocations - Illinois

Check out whoever you are going to use THOROUGHLY!!!!! I would have never known about these bad companies had I not checked into them. There are also licenses that the movers need to have and be current for international moving, (sorry don't know what they are yet) so it will be a time consuming process checking out all these particulars.

re: sebra, I did a quick search for them and this image may give us the answer. It's the page that opened when going to their page.

Good luck to us both! Oi.

We did our move with a German movers company (Hertling) which worked with Seabra Movers in Bangkok (Klong Thoey).

We had no issues, the transport from BKK to upcountry worked smooth and was in time.

2000 Baht tea money was paid for customs.

I was in telephone and e-mail contact with Robin Hyde from Seabra Movers.

If you like contact details, send me a PM.
