But that's not how you hold a "peaceful pro-democracy" rally. Not a single tyre or bamboo stick to be seen. And where are their containers for the petrol that will be handed out? It even looks like the shops are still open and people going about their business. Really, if you can't threaten and make businesses close out of fear then what is the point of having a rally?

Earlier reports stated shops/malls would be staying open. I didn't even hear a call for 1,000,000 empty bottle to be brought (re: Arisaman)

Rallies just aren't what they used to be. What a bunch of amateurs when compared to the professional red shirt rallies of 2009 and 2010. Next they'll start telling the truth from the stage, and tolerating anyone with an opposing view.. Breaking every rule in the little red rally book.

I know how I would be handling presenting the redshirt violence and the arsons if it were me. I am not sure how that legal it would be though, with Thailand's rather odd EC laws/rules. Video or Arisiman's speech followed by front page photos from newspapers in Thailand and around the world of BKK burning. Speakers on red stages talking about their defenders and threatening geurilla warfare and some of the shots of Seh Daeng's "Ronin/Men-in-black" Seh Daeng's ` the only dance I will be doing is the throwing a grenade dance` followed with the m79 attacks, followed by Seh daeng's statements in his last few days about Thaksin and not stopping the rally until Thaksin said to!

I hope Abhisit has some strong stuff!

Key speakers at Democrats campaign rally expected to take stage at Ratchaprasong at 18.00, crowds cheered to welcome party sec-gen Suthep. /TAN_Network

Will they leave tonight or make camp for the next 2 months?

As most of them have jobs to go to and aren't being paid to be there I guess they'll go home afterwards.

Suthep blames all 26 April 10 deaths on black shirts; trying to prove his class w. video clips.

Suthep says they were shuttled unopposed thru red guards. Arrests were made, large stores of weapons & ammunition seized, case in court

tonight necessary, Suthep says, coz of organised effort to discredit AV in PT/Red media & distribution of leaflets in rural areas.

Suthep says he doesn't want to see people disunited because of distorted information.

Suthep is choking up as he talks of PM Abhisit and ordeal he has been through.

Suthep getting big reaction when he accuses TS forces of wanted to return to power and get his money back.

Suthep says negotiations were carried out in full view of everyone and it was jatuporn who refused to continue.

Suthep: admitted 26 deaths (5 soldiers,20Thais,1Japanese reporter) occurred during red-shirt's gathering in 2010 at Ratchadamnoen Rd. /TAN_Network

So the other 65 aren't dead then?

It did say at RATCHADAMNOEN Road. Not the war zone around Ratchaprasong. They are some distance apart.

Lets see if he mentions how many others died at the hands of the military and red/black shirt rebels in the later street battles?

The 26 deaths are from the first violent clash on April 10th 2010. The others are from later, uptill the 19th of May 2010.

Suthep says red leaders at first appeared to accept PM's reconciliation plan, but then added conditions, e.g. Suthep enter legal process

When Suthep acquiesed by reporting to DSI, he says, reds weren't satisifed and added conditions.

Anolther big reaction when Suthep brings up red invasion of hospital (Non divisive??)

Suthep goes on to remind people of Silom M79 attacks 1 dead, 80 injured, then details additional attacks.

Suthep says Seh Daeng died in suspicious circumstances. Said Jatuporn had more reason to kill because TS was supporting radicals

Lies might certainly be perceived as divisive but surely not blatant truths? I mean everyone remembers when they invaded a hospital of suffering patients because they were mad at the Army for deposing their beloved despot don't they? If not maybe this will jog their memory. Trisailer, did you get this far?

How is mentioning things that happened "divisive"? The red shirts go on about how Abhisit did this and Abhisit did that. Isn't that divisive every time they have a rally?

No one died at Rajprasong on May 19: Suthep

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said Thursday that no one was killed at the Rajprasong Intersecion during the crackdown on red-shirt protesters on May 19 last year.

Speaking at the Democrat rally at Central World Thursday evening, Suthep said the May 19 crackdown led to 4 deaths but none of them died at the Ratprasong stage.

Thousands of people gathered at the Democrat rally to hear the Democrat's side of the story.

Suthep said he had to speak about the incident after the red-shirt leaders had provided distorted information to the public for a long time.
