Cell Phone Depleting Top Up Credit Within A Short Time.

Featured Replies

This has happened to me a few times. I using DTAC and always top up my cell phone with either 100 or 60THB. I don’t make any calls, just usually 2 a week. I check the credit and its down to ‘0’. What’s going on here? I have had the number for about a year so far and it won’t expire until Aug. 2012. People call me and miss call and I can’t call back. It’s like someone is sucking what I put into.

I’ve tried to call the DTAC call center, and my phone ends up saying it’s out of credit.

What is the make/model of your phone?

What calling plan are you currently subscribed to?

Do you have any other services enabled on this number?

Do you access the internet? Send/receive MMSes?

How long has this phenomenon been happening? (You mention you've had the SIM for about a year. Is this a recent occurrence?)

Have you contacted DTAC? What did they say? If you haven't contacted them you should. They can look at your history and immediately identify the problem(s).

As asked what kind of phone. Do you have GPS having to contact to get location? Email checking? Other things running on it?

Disable all application that are running in the background and it will not eat up your credit anymore...

LG CE 0168

Just standard Top up. Go to 7/11 and buy top up card.

Not that I aware of. It’s a touch pad phone, sorta of like a Samsong

Do you access the internet? Send/receive MMSes?

Nope.

The last few weeks.

Can’t get through. There is no credit on the phone to call.

No GPS, to old for that.

The only application that is on the main screen: The clock, Times between here and San Jose, CA.

Hi!I had similar problems.I am sucker for nice numbers.I bought SIM cards few times, which were dodgy, not in original packing - but numbers were special;price was also special,

but not so much.Well, but I had the same observations - my balance was depleted really quickly! They were clones and someone was sucking my balance. It was in Thailand.

Similar story in Indonesia,in this country they practice any scam possible;they even use rigged calculators in money changing! So,once they sold me fake top-up card, same as original,

from the same factory, but numbers were wrong! After that,I used only virtual top-up,verified on spot by sms.And they cheated me again on this virtual top-up!After I had left the shop

my new balance disappeard from my account! Each time it was about 5 bucks, not a big deal - but what a feeling?like getting crap from GF!

Sounds very much like your phone is using the internet!

Call DTAC and ask for the code to disable internet

What about registering at DTAC/Happy-Website?

If you are registered, you can access the so called "itemised billing".

This may give you an idea for what kind of purpose your credit is used.

You can use this link: http://eservice.dtac.co.th/bp3/bin/ActivateCodeSSO?lang=E

You don't need credit on your phone. You just must have same days of validity to receive SMS.
