BOJONEGORO, INDONESIA (BNO NEWS) -- At least ten people were killed after a small boat sank in a river in East Java, Indonesia, officials said Tuesday.

The incident occurred on Monday in the Bengawan Solo river near Bojonegoro and Tuban, East Java when a small boat carrying 16 people capsized, District Disaster Management chief Kasiyanto said, adding that the 10th and final fatal victim, a 9-year-old boy identified as Robbi, was found at 1:15 p.m. local time.

The causes of the incident are believed to be leaking in the boat, as well as overloading, as the small boat, driven by a 15-year-old boy, was also carrying six motorcycles and two bicycles. After the last victim was identified, Kasiyanto announced that search and rescue teams would end their relief efforts. Among the 10 killed was also another child, aged 4.

The boat parted from the village of Kanorejo, in Rengel, Tuban, and was headed toward the district of Kanor in Bojonegoro. This is the second time a boat sinks in the area of the Bengawan Solo river in the past two months. Previously, a similar accident in the village of Padang in the district of Trucuk, nine people were killed and one remains unaccounted for after a small boat with 31 people aboard sank.
