June 29, 201115 yr Train crash injures 79 in Cuba 2011-06-29 08:09:29 GMT+7 (ICT) HAVANA (BNO NEWS) -- At least 79 people were injured on Tuesday when two trains collided in the eastern Cuban province of Guantanamo, local newspaper Venceremos reported. The driver of the small train said the brakes didn't work, causing the small train to collide with the passenger train. Authorities, however, are still investigating what caused the technical problem. Most of the injured sustained only minor injuries. Rogelio Creach Bandera, director of Guantanamo's Regional Hospital, said that two people were in serious condition and may have to undergo surgery.
