THis seems to apply to internal flights in Australia I do not know if it covers the Phucket flights.

The aviation regulator says it has lost confidence in Tiger Airways' ability to manage its safety after a series of events, culminating in the grounding of the airline's Australian flights.

All Tiger Airways Australia's domestic flights were today suspended for a week, until July 9.

Reasons included concerns about "pilot proficiency", "aircraft maintenance" and "fatigue management". I hope they throw these amateurs out of the country before they do a "One-Two-Go".

The one week suspension (to be further reviewed) only affects domestic travel within Australia with them.

Australia-Singapore flights are still operating.

Apart from the luckless travellers who are affected here and of course their staff, who at this stage don't have a certain future, one must feel sorry.

But, nothing surer was going to happen with this mob. As an Australian I feel ashamed that they were ever allowed to operate here, they have been a joke from day one.

I'm not sure how closely aligned they are with Singapore Airlines, but there is some form of connection. How this ever happened with SQ is also questionable?

I'm speaking only of the Australian arm, I don't know how they stand-up in Asia.

I have used Tiger in the past when they first operated in Australia. after a number of unsatisfactory experiences, I vowed never to use them again.
