July 6, 201115 yr I found this article in the Daily Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/8615569/Noisy-wind-farm-drove-couple-out-of-their-home.html Noisy wind farm 'drove couple out of their home'A couple who say they were driven out of their family farm by the "nightmare" hum of wind turbines have mounted a ground-breaking £2.5 million compensation bid in London's High Court. But couldn't find it in the Guardian. Similarly, on the same day, I found this article in the Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2011/jul/05/cameron-cuts-business-class-flights-for-ministers David Cameron to cut business class flights for ministers and civil servantsPrime minister decrees that all air travel should be in economy seats as he tries to rescue government's green credentials But not in the Telegraph. Yer picks yer paper and yer carry on thinking the same old thoughts. By the way - making ministers travel coach, rather than business class, must save an awful lot of fuel and reduce pollution - but I've not yet figured out how? Any clarification will be welcome. July 6, 201115 yr i think this article in the Daily Mail sums up cultural differences Dewsbury, Bradford and Tower Hamlets ... where Islamic extremists want to establish independent states with sharia law Medieval 'emirates' would operate outside British rule Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2011433/Islamic-extremists-set-independent-states-UK-fall-Shariah-law.html#ixzz1RIc0xeIl
July 6, 201115 yr ".... making ministers travel coach, rather than business class, must save an awful lot of fuel and reduce pollution - but I've not yet figured out how? Cram as many people in a plane as possible, and there is some sort of saving in that it takes fewer planes to carry x number of passengers from point A to point B.
July 6, 201115 yr Author ".... making ministers travel coach, rather than business class, must save an awful lot of fuel and reduce pollution - but I've not yet figured out how? Any clarification will be welcome. " I think it may have to do with bums on seats. Cram as many people in a plane as possible, and there is some sort of saving in that it takes fewer planes to carry x number of passengers from point A to point B. You are suggesting that DC will send a Minister and entourage from UK to Oz to negotiate compensation for the cruel and unusual punishment we inflicted on the poor convicts by sending them to NSW (and later exporting the Gillard family to Adelaide) - then get on to BA (Bloody Awful) and say 'Oi - look - I've put a tosser and seventeen lesser tossers on a flight to Melbourne. Can you reconfigure the seats to accommodate more utility class?' And the answer comes back 'Sorry, mate. All the Business class passengers have had to double-book because of Tiger Air being down. So we've cut out cattle class on this flight, what with the Aussie dollar being so strong and everyone that used to travel by boat now flying in.' So he hasn't saved a single atom of carbon, but he's saving a fortune in seat-costs. And now there's no room in their baggage for souvenirs - losing that extra 10 kilos - the pound is going up.
July 10, 201115 yr I think it will save money because many trips that need not be taken won't be. Coach Class isn't much fun anymore.
