So there's a question on the C2 child's passport form. It asks if the child has/had any other passports or travel documents, and if they are included in the application. Has anyone ever sent their child's Thai passport as part of the application for a British one? When reading the notes it seems as if they are saying you should send in even a foreign passport.

Hi got this from a mate a month ago who where he was working had an immigration solicitor there

Your circumstances may not be the same as I am not married

Hi mate have got all the details to get your daughter a British passport.

You need your birth certificate your passport.

Her birth certificate = partner.

Your daughters translated in English 500BHT fee for this in Bangkok.

Blue book for the house 2 passport photos signed and certified

You need to get a Thai passport first 2000bht because you’re not married,

Takes 3 days just turn up in Bangkok to do with the above documents.

The same once you get that

Go to the British embassy 8.00am they will check and send for the British passport for you

4250BHT delivered to your home address

4250BHT for passport and 1200BHT delivery by courier <DHL from Hong Kong.

The good thing about this way is you go they scan check everything before they charge you

If it’s wrong they don’t charge you they just tell you what you need to do or bring

It’s basically a check and send service in Thailand from the British embassy.

Thanks for the info Cockney, very useful. I'm married though, do I still have to send the wife's birth certificate?

What about the kid's photos. Do the kids have to have their mouths closed or are they a bit more lenient with children?

A Thai passport is 1,000 baht regardless if married or not.

If you payed 2,000 did you get a receipt? If not, that says enough.

Yeah, that's what we paid. And we're married.

My 2 questions are...

Did anyone include the Thai passport in the application for a British passport, if applying by mail.

Is it OK for a child to have their/his/her mouth open in the passport photos. I don't want to go to all the trouble of posting it in and then having to send new photos. Yes, I know. It would be better to have a photo with mouth closed if I think it's a problem.

Ta.

It's not a requirement to send your kids Thai passport, I think try and get a pic with ur child's mouth closed remember you need to send your full birth lines the ones with your mum and dads occupation on it, I think there's a guide on one of the forums here it tells you what is required, I got mine about 4 years ago and also got a set of birth certs, good luck

Thanks for the replies peeps. So got the passport back just under three weeks from sending it in.

Didn't send the Thai passport and did use a photo of the kid with mouth closed.

Good job.
