I've downloaded Google Earth a couple of times, but it comes in Thai, whereas on the download page I select English. Presumably it does this as it detects from my ISP that I'm in Thailand. Does anyone know how to correct this, please ?

AFAIK, the Google Earth installer supports all languages. However, during installation, GE defaults to the language used by the operating system. If your Windows (regional settings) is set to Thai, GE will default to Thai. Yeah it sucks, but that's the way it is. :(

You can change it back to English or your native language. Since the UI is in Thai, maybe get someone who can read Thai to do it for you.

It has nothing to do with your computer settings being in Thai, mine aren't either it does read your IP and assumes if you're in Thailand you must read Thai, it does that if you make it a home page as well and automatically links you to Google.co.th.. It's some long involved process to go into your settings to change but now Google provides an option to link to the English site so that's what I did..

Run Google Earth

Choose the 4th option along on the menu across the top of the program

Choose the bottom option on the drop down list

In the left hand side of the panel that appears there are three tick box choices. Below them is a drop down box choice. That's the language settings box. Drop down and choose English (US) or (UK). Up to you!

The GeoIP tracking is certainly valid and so are your computer settings (or locale). FWIW, I just downloaded and installed Google Earth... Everything was presented to me in English -- the installer as well as user interface.

Right so just to be clear Thai settings should not be an issue as surely his computer settings aren't set to "Thai" if he uses it in English all the time as do I..

My version of GE needs the extra stage in RED

Run Google Earth

Choose the 4th option along on the menu across the top of the program

Choose the bottom option on the drop down list

Choose the rightmost tab (General)

In the left hand side of the panel that appears there are three tick box choices. Below them is a drop down box choice. That's the language settings box. Drop down and choose English (US) or (UK). Up to you!

The default language setting is 'system default' so it will pick up from one of the system language settings.

No worries we all make mistakes and you REALLY don't want to know how long it took me to get back into English because my brain decided to forget how to count to four :)
