I have my Grandaughter and her boyfriend staying with me. When they were in Indonesia they lost their passports and were issued temporary passports and arrived in BKK with them and were given a 30 day visitors visa. They have now received there new passports and want now to travel to Vietnam for the next part of their tour. My question is do they have to go to Immigration to have their visitors visa transferred to their new passports before they can leave Thailand?

The old policy was yes but reports this year indicate that it can be done as they exit if not on an extension of stay.
