Non Immigr. O Visa Extension

Featured Replies

my first 90 days of stay on the multiple 1 year O visa will expire on 23rd August.

Due to medical reason I would like to extend my stay by about 14 days.

can I go to immigration in Pattaya (Jomtien) and is it possible?

thanks, thaisabai

If you have a valid medical reason and supporting documents from doctor/hospital up to 90 days extension is available.

2.25 In the case of medical

treatment or convalescence or to look after a patient:

Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 90 days at a time.

(1) Confirmation and request has been made by a physician

responsible for the treatment. The Physician must describe the details of treatment and advised that the illness is a barrier for travelling.

is this the only way to get an extension for an O visa, with medical claim?

isn't there a simple extension like for tourist visa, 15 days, 1.900 baht?

thanks

Without any claim, you can get only 7 days (but probably must show a ticket out of the country within 7 days).

Just crossing the bother, entering another country and retunring to Thailand will get you a new 90 days.

Edit:

Unless you are married to a Thai national or have a child with Thai nationality. In that case you can get a 60 day extension from immigration.

No and there is no 15 day extension for tourist visas either.
