I've just read a thread about a UK guy that his partner/gf did not get her visa on two main grounds, one of which being he didn't provide enough documentation in relation to the house/flat he is living in.

I've just gone through my checklist for our application but I can't see anywhere that as an Australian I need to provide any proof of where I live. I know his was a UK application, is it a case that our statements and signatures to this effect is enough? I'm about to submit this tomorrow and I don't have anything with me that proves I live (where i live in Australia).

I don't really want to hold of the application any longer, I've procrastinated way too long as it is. I think I have an old bank statement that wound up here, but that's all I have. I suppose I can print off a credit card statement or two (that should have my address).

Is it a necessity for an Australian 309 application?

thx

For your sponsorship to be approved you must be able to demonstrate that you have the ability to support your partner for at least the first two years of settlement, that is, financially and with respect to accommodation too. Have you gone through the partner migration handbook published by DIAC and read up on sponsorship requirements?

I have, but to be honest that was a while ago when we were tetter tottering on her second visa application, ie prospective marriage vs another tourist visa. We opted for another tourist visa. I have to admit, I have been treating the partner visa as just a souped up tourist visa, but you've just made me rethink that. And so I will have another look at the booklet. I don't have much here regarding my house specifically, but I do have a few things (tax assessment and bank statements) with my address. Again, thanks for the reminder...
