Early morning Police round-up on Pattaya Beach

PATTAYA: -- 50 individuals, accused of involvement in anti-social and illegal activities on Pattaya Beach, were rounded by Police in the early hours of Wednesday. Due to increasing levels of complaints from Tourists, the round-up took place with the intention of targeting prostitutes, gang members and others who appeared to have the potential of causing harm to tourists.

Low Season = Less Tourists.

Are our Tourists becoming more organised?

A valuable asset like the beach should be protected from scammers, jet skis punks, drug dealers, hookers, gangs, umbrella/chair enterprises, vendors, passed out drunks, ladyboys robbing tourists and people throwing trash around.

And what happened to the maintenance budget?

Dead plants, exposed wiring, broken footpaths, rubble strewn about, trash everywhere.

Perhaps someone has realised that such action is required if they want tourists to continue visiting.

Personally, the prostitutes do not bother me (except to say, "hey, where you goooooooo." I am more concerned about the jet ski mafia. Were they arrested? I did not read it in the article.

How about doing this during the day and round up the jet ski mafia??
