Pattaya Officially Changes Name to ‘The Infamous Seaside Resort of Pattaya’

THE INFAMOUS SEASIDE RESORT OF PATTAYA — Known worldwide as a den of crime and vice, Pattaya municipal officials have decided to embrace its reputation by officially renaming the city “The Infamous Seaside Resort of Pattaya”.

Explaining the decision, Mayor Tik Kunplome said, “We found that almost every international press report referred to us as ‘the infamous seaside resort’. Rather than waste more money trying to brand our city as a family-friendly destination, we’ve decided that the moniker will help bring in more of those tourists to whom we cater best. Let’s not pretend anymore. Sex, drugs, prostitution — this shit sells.”

The mayor said to generate fresh international publicity for The Infamous Seaside Resort of Pattaya, police would raid go-go bars, briefly detain some of the town’s best-known pedophiles, throw a few old foreigners off balconies, and ask the town’s waxworks museum to resurrect its Hitler billboard.

Sex, drugs, prostitution — this shit sells.”

A last, some common sense!

Yes, it rings true . . . . . and long overdue

Truth bites! How can something so true be a satire! Viva la Pattayalaugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

give it time. we will have people replying without reading it properly. it will be like april fools day all over again.

It's not as priceless as the article about Farang riots during the alcohol ban, but it will certainly do. Well done NTN.

About bleeding time too,who wants the place invaded by families heheheheheheehh

Why only old?!:cheesy:

Finally a mayor with a sense for reality. Isn't his dad (Somchai Khuenpluem) still a fugitive from the law?

To finally embrace Pattaya as place where most of businesses are directly or indirectly dependent on prostitution is as bold a move as it is smart. The truth shall set you free!

Perhaps it would be good for the Tourism Authority of Thailand to also finally admit the fact and cease TV commercials like "Pattaya, Pearl of the East. Enjoy!" and instead replace them with plainly inaccurate messages like "Pattaya, Gem of the Eastern Seaboard, where the polluted sea is going to strip the skin off your body and land-based vixens of any type will soothe you in amazing ways.".

But when have you ever encountered a government official who got it right in this country? Where are they holidaying anyway?

Just in case you do not, Satire is A funny piece of writing that usually makes fun of foolish or evil behavior.

"Let’s not pretend anymore. Sex, drugs, prostitution — this shit sells.”

Classic.

(Can anyone really have believed the mayor said that, though?)
