Red Cross Volunteers Office celebrates its 71st Anniversary tomorrow

BANGKOK, 31 July 2011 (NNT)-The Thai Red Cross Society's Volunteers Office will celebrate its 71st Anniversary tomorrow while confirming its commitment to continue working for the elderly, children and the less fortunate.

Thai Red Cross Society's Volunteers Office Director-General, Emeritus Professor MD. Damrong Rieanprayoon has revealed that the celebration for the office's 71st founding anniversary will take place tomorrow. Certificates and pins will be given to Red Cross volunteers who have fulfilled the requirements in their duty.

Religious ceremonies will be held along with the exhibition showcasing the achievements of Thai Red Cross volunteers. The event will be held at Chulabhorn Hospital from 8.00 hrs-12.00 hrs.

MD Damrong added that Thai Red Cross volunteers will continue to help improve the quality of live for the elderly, less fortunate children and youth. Victims of severe floods and elderly monks will also come under the care of the Thai Red Cross volunteers.

The office is now accepting more volunteers to its existing team of 9,500 people. Those who are interested can contact 1664 for more information.
