How To Go About Finding A Decent Language Exchange Partner?

I've just started studying thai and wouldnt mind some one to practice with. I know how to teach, so understand the need to do language exchange with some one who at least understands how a language is learned.

How can I find some one. Any place best to look? Advertise?

I have a friend who advertises on Craigslist and has found partners for various languages including Thai. The cost is about $20 per hour, but they usually aren't teachers...just native speakers. There are a lot of commercial sites which you can find by searching "language exchange".

Do you want someone to practice with or someone to teach you? Anyone you get through a language exchange is unlikely to be a discount teacher. S/he may correct your pronunciation or grammar or word choice but is probably not going to be able to explain any of the reasons why you're wrong. If that's what you want, you need to go to a school.
