Visa Forms From Canada

Featured Replies

I have several questions concerning my dual entry tourist visa.

I am about to send my brand new shiny passport and tourist visa application by mail. I am in Canada and have been looking at the PDF files they have online. The one from the embassy in Ottawa is different from the one you download from the consulate in Toronto. Which one to use? http://thaiembassy.c...s/VISA_FORM.PDF

The Ottawa form asks for a guarantor both in Canada and in Thailand.

The Toronto form only asks for a guarantor in Thailand.

I can put a friends name in the Canadian guarantor slot but I don't know anyone in Thailand. Is this necessary?

The Ottawa form asks for a departure date from Canada (Toronto does not), date of arrival in Thailand, duration of stay, and flight number. I don't have that info yet since I tend to like shopping for the best flight costs and have found (often) last minute deals to be the cheapest. Is all of the departure/arrival/flight number info necessary on the forms? The Toronto form asks for an address in Thailand. I have not booked my hotel yet (that last minute deal again) Can I just say "Various hotels?" or do I need to book one before I send in my application?

What about duration of stay. I hope to max out a dual entry to 6 months, but what is put on the visa application form: 60 days, 90 days, 180 days? Do I need an out bound ticket when entering with a visa? I have seen that question asked many times but have not seen a definitive answer - yes or no.

The form from Toronto seems easier but…any advice from experienced Canadians (or any knowledgeable board member for that matter) on the board would be greatly appreciated.

Use the consulate in Toronto, much easier, done that, you can pm me. The consulate in Toronto will help you fill it out to your benefit, it is small and they are not busy. They are in a house on Isabella St. off Yonge.
