Train Tokyo-Fukuoka-Tokyo would be 45k Yen (410US$ = 16K baht), 5 hours ride, 1170km. In September, a friend paid for Tokyo-Fukuoka-Tokyo 550 EU, in addition to Rome-Tokyo-Rome ticket.

As to Hiroshima, Bangkok Airways is the only carrier offering direct service between Bangkok and Hiroshima. Fukuoka airport to Hiroshima is about an hour and half to two hours bullet train ride with a change of train at Hakata station (about 5,000 yen one way).

I have never heard JAL codesharing with TG. They do with American Airlines and joining soon the OneWorld Alliance). The price probably included a flight to Osaka and than to Fukuoka and looks low to me. On a reputable carrier (which JAL is) I pay 26K baht just to get NRT-BKK-NRT at a "discounted" price. It was posted in this section, BKK Airways is still to start flying to Hiroshima. November 3rd or something, can't remember.

American and TG are not the only carriers JAL codeshares with.

Maybe better going to TG directly.
