zzaa09
A romantic notion at best. The idea [less reality] has been stuck in my craw for a time now. Advice and suggestions would be helpful towards those who have experienced or know off someone that has. From the tip top of Yunnan Province in China winding down to the delta on Vietnam's coastline. Pitfalls and hazzards? Does one need to pre-arrange respective visas.......[transit visas] for China, Burma, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam? Other than the bureaucracy, getting on would never be an issue - safety, accomodation, health, etc. Or....just impossible with the way things are today? Thanks. koknia
I'm also planning something like this in the next year or so, but starting in Laos. (I did Ranong to Krabi this year, 325 kms) Would be interested in updated info as well. Steve Van Beek has kayaked the entire Mekong but I think it was a few years ago. craigt3365
That would be quite an adventure...which I would imagine would require a substantial amount of support? Good dream to have though! Mine, which I hope to do 1/2 of next year, is to traverse the silk route from Xian to Istanbul...slowly...
