I may want to import an Alienware computer system. My question is how many percent is the import tax, duty or customs etc?. Does UPS or FedEx take care of it and then charge me? What is the most effective way?

What amount are these percentages applied against? The net sales price of the system as purchased in the U.S.A.? In USD converted to THB?

Are these figures documented anywahere, official? In English?

Most posts I recall mention that duty, on items shipped into Thailand, is applied at the discretion of the inspector, sometimes reaching closer to 40%.

Computers/computer parts are 3% +VAT, charged on the price + shipping.

Fedex should be able to take care of it for you and doesnt add any discernable time to shipping, Fedex, DHL etc... will charge you a small fee for processing though.

What's the deal with Alienware ? cool looking overpriced PC ? aren't these reserved for virgin basement gamers ?
