I have a online business where I will shortly introduce membership based information. I would appreciate suggestions to which of the following scenarios is the best solution. Or, if an even better exists, please share it with me.

Here's a couple of theoretical ways my site could work.

Step 1. Non-members sign for membership and pay using a credit card.

Step 2. Upon completing online payment, these new members are automatically redirected to:

a. a designated page, available only if you have completed payment, where new members themselves can create their own login and password and then log on to member pages.

or

b.my start page until they receive a confirmation email with a database generated personal login and password and can contiue onwards to membeship pages.
