webfact
Suchart: Bt1 million for all villages By The Nation Pheu Thai party-list MP Suchart Thadathamrongvej Monday denied that he had promised to allocate Bt1 million just for each of red-shirt villages. He said he did not made the statement as reported by the the media. He said he simply went to chair the opening ceremony of a red-shirt village in Udon Thani - Namung village in Tambon Banyuad of Srangkhom district. It was the first red-shirt village formally set up after the election. He said the government has a policy to allocate Bt1 million as revolving fund to each of all villages, not just the red-shirt villages. He said the red-shirt villages were set up as a symbol against coup, not to encourage divisiveness. "The opening of red-shirt villages is just for expression against coup. We use the red-shirt and former prime minister Thaskin Shinawatra as symbols against coup and we use the words 'red-shirt village for democracy'," Suchart said. Suchart was responding to Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjjaiva, who said the government should not encourage establishment of red-shirt villages. Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said Monday that the government should not encourage establishments of more red-shirt villages by allocating Bt1 million fund to each of red-shirt village. Abhisit said he heard from reports that Schart announced the government would allocate Bt1 million to each red-shirt village. Abhisit said he would wait to hear an explanation from the government but he hoped the government would not do anything that encourages divisiveness in the country. "Please don't play politics like this. If you play politics like this, the country will be damaged," Abhisit said. -- The Nation 2011-08-
Buchholz
He said the red-shirt villages were set up as a symbol against coup, not to encourage divisiveness. Set up five years after the coup? Anyway, even beyond his Red Shirt Village Millionaires, Suchart has plenty enough already on his plate with documented timelines for the PTP Campaign Promises... Ricardo
Cue posts in response, condemning yellow-shirt villages, oh except that there aren't any ! Must have been an oversight by former-PM Abhisit, and the evil & immoral previous government, not to follow the Reds' example of how to delude the poor peasants ! I mean it obviously works, and who cares if the poor-villagers are now disappointed, when the things they feel they were promised fail to happen, as they've already served their purpose ? Yay for Red Democracy ! You'll never walk alone, until after the election, that is !

Anyway, even beyond his Red Shirt Village Millionaires, Suchart has plenty enough already on his plate with documented timelines for the PTP Campaign Promises... Suchart: All Pheu Thai policies will be implemented http://pattayatoday....be-implemented/ I think that the Democrats should wait until the government falls apart and upsets it's supporters (shouldn't be long), before trying to get them dissolved as there will be less opposition from the "hood-winked" voters who will have wised up to their flagrant pre-election abuses. The red shirt villages is a great idea - should help the planned reconciliation of the people no-end. They are full of some wonderful ideas I must say Bravo Yingluck Bravo Pheu Thai. Is it just me?? or is there a distinct absense of Thaksinites in a number of these threads. Ha Ha Ha Ha
