Advice On Budget Hotels, Long-term Rentals, Etc.?

Can anyone recommend to me here or by e-mail to [email protected] the names of budget hotels at or near Hua Hin? (I'm hoping to pay no more than 600 baht a day starting mid-March, 2006, for room with private, Western-style toilet and shower in a quiet location.

I plan to stay there for two weeks or so while learning about living conditions and also while looking at non-furnished budget apartments or little homes to rent. I'm hoping to pay no more than 12,000 baht a month with at least a 6 month lease.

I also appreciate names of non-luxury restaurants and shops in the Hua Hin area for my daily needs.
