Greedy With Information -

Featured Replies

Here one for the language wizards. I was talking with a Thai person and they introduced me to a term that sounded like "jai cap" ... as in "jai dee/kind heart". Apparently this term refers to people who don't want to share information because it might give others some advantage. I hasten to add the Thai in question was talking to me, but not about me :)

Now I have tried to look this up in google but can't get any hits so I guess my english spelling is way out. Can anyone tell me how it is or might be written in english, and any further context or meaning surrounding this term. Thanks all

ใจแคบ-- jai khab (long, falling tone) literally "narrow heart". The opposite ใจกว้าง "wide heart" is also used.

Thanks Mike. Sounds like it has a much wider meaning than simply information sharing

From one dictionary I looked in: ใจแคบ - narrow minded, small minded, selfish, ungenerous.
