At the Australian visa section, Thai CC House, Surasak BTS Station, you can make appointment after 2.00pm Monday to Friday to talk with an officer and they will tell you everthing you need to know and do, they are very good will spend as much time you need.

Criminal background checks are not required for a tourist visa application. They will, however, want to be convinced that your Mrs. is a bona fide tourist, that she (or you) have sufficient financial resources to fund the trip and that she has solid reasons for returning to Thailand at the end of her visit. The Australian Embassy website has information on the type of documentation they normally ask for.

Applications are lodged via a third-party processing firm called VFS (Thailand) Ltd. As stated above, their offices are at Thai CC Tower, 34th Floor, 889 South Sathorn Road, Bangkok.

As a UK citizen, you will also need a visa but you can get an eVisitor visa online and free of charge. Valid for multiple visits over a 12 month period, stay up to 3 months each time. If you think you may end up staying longer than 3 months, you may want to consider lodging a tourist visa application at the same time as your spouse, which will save you the time and expense of applying for an extension in Australia.
