AbdulJabaar01
I just bought a new flash drive, and when I tried to access it it would say, I don't have permissions to access it and something about having to access the "Security tab". Has any one found how to solve this issue. I did check Kingston website and other blogs, but found no solution. Good day
hml367
The Security Tab may have to do with your operating systems security. Are you using Windows 7 ? MSPain
GooEng
some flash drives have a little switch or slider on them that locks the drive - it's not that is it?

AbdulJabaar01
I did all the above situations. Tried to reformat, tried to reset security tab. My laptop is running Windows 7, starter edition. Then, I put it onto another computer, and AVG detected multiple autorun files and programs that came up as viruses. The product is assembled in Taiwan.
angiud
Maybe is just a counterfeit Kingston?
cockneyrebel
you could try turning your firewall off to access it on windows
hml367
Have you used other usb flashdrives on this computer before? Also, if it is convenient you could stop by where you purchased the drive and ask them to put it into a computer there. Kind of like isolating an electrical problem in a house or car: try one half to see if there is a problem; then try the other half. When you isolate the problem to the drive itself; your computer; the program; etc., then it is easier to solve. I have a pretty new Kingston DataTraveller and I had a problem, although not the same as yours, and it I went back to the shop and it worked fine in their computer. It seems to be that a program I used to synchronize files was the culprit in my case. MSPain Edited September 12, 2011 by hml367

AbdulJabaar01
Actually, I just threw it away. Going for another brand. The code I entered into Kingston verifier came up false. It's a fake.
