Hi guys & girls :D

I've never been interested in cars never have&never will

All they have been for me in my life is a means to get from A(work) to B(home)& i never cared for how it looked or drove or engine.etc!

Now i've been based in Thailand 5 years i've even less an idea on models & types all i've done is drive a 125cc around :(

But i now need one asap as the wife & me have just had a little poo ying this week & we will need a new family car :)

Could you please give me an idea of something for around 500/750,000baht with enough space for the 3 of us plus suitcases&a pram.etc?

My wife said she liked Nissan March but after checking on the net there certainly no family car...

All recommendation grateful THANKS :jap:

The Nissan March CVT is a good run around for the money and very comfortable for what it is. If your buggy goes in the boot then seems OK to me. :)

All them wheels are my prices range & a tax refund would be a right bonus for us...

Hope that goes through :jap:

For under the budget, an eco-car (20km/liter efficiency) may be too small for a family. The trunk space in the Nissan March and Honda Brio may be inadequate. There are other cars in that bracket like the Proton Savvy and the new Kia Piccanto (25km/litre) which have steeper depreciation but may be options if you live near a dealership.

For the 500-700k bracket you have the new Honda City and the Toyota Vios - both have the lowest depreciation for saloon cars. The so-called 'new' Vios has minor cosmetic changes and is halfway through it's product life.

For lowest fuel costs the Proton Persona and Chevrolet Aveo are sold with CNG systems, which robs trunk space, but it's still fine for small suitcases and prams. You'll have higher maintenance costs with these cars and they are both old. The Aveo is a rebadged Daewoo and the new Aveo (sold as the Sonic in the US) will be released here next year.

The Mazda 2 and Ford Fiesta are both new to Thailand and share the same underpinnings. The sedan versions of these cars would be most suitable for a family car, with most people rating the Fiesta higher than the sportier Mazda for this purpose.

The wife's cousin came round today with a 10 month old Vios so we took it for a spin
i kind of liked it,the missus did it drove well at 100km/h quiet :)
it was the standard auto for about 600,000 baht
the boot space was fine :)
Will go into town on tuesday & go to the garage
The 1.5G Limited 714,000 baht with twin air bags in silver looks & sounds up to safety spec :whistling:
And with the 100,000 baht tax rebate i think it would be good value for $$$ B)
also the cousin a littled peed as he can't get any rebate back because it was bought dec 2010 so misses out on $$$ by 1 month :realangry:
