Hi guys first up lot of great information here that I used to get my gf first visa.

She is at the end of her first 3 month visa and want her back ASAP. I'm positive I read here somewhere before that she could apply as soon as she is back but cannot find the thread anymore. I have also heard there is a 3 month wait between visas. So can someone clarify what one is correct.

Another issue I'm facing is she is going to quit her job as 1 year with only a couple of months in Thailand she can't keep it. Does having no job really hurt a 2nd visa even if we got a letter from her boss saying they would love to have her back if she returns to thailand

Each case is viewed differently by the staff at the Australian Embassy, however, guidelines suggest that if she spends more time in Australia than in Thailand during any given period, she is not a tourist living in Thailand and visiting Australia but one who is living in Australia and visiting Thailand.

Since you are living in Australia and she is romantically linked to you, the danger of an overstay is far greater if she doesn't have a job that she must return to in Thailand.

My guess is that she is best served in waiting three months before applying for her second tourist visa in the same year.

would be a good idea to point out also other reasons she has to return to Thailand eg family etc. you have to put as much weight to proof she will return and has very good reason to do so. Im sure smarter people will add more to this lol :jap:

There is no such guideline, She cannot be classified as living in Oz unless she has a Temp Res or Permanent Res visa. However tourist visas are not endless and the Embassy may limit the amount issued.

There is no 3 month waiting period between visas.

As mentioned, not having a job when it was part of the first visa may affect the outcome unless there are other reasons to return.
