Good Dentist Clinic ...?

Recommended Posts

As hospitals and dentist clinics are poping up on the island I have problem to choose the dentist at the moment.

I didn't need them before but now seems like long term treatment so I need good one with good skills, reasonable price ( no private hospital's rates), english spoken etc.

Heard different opinions of certain ones so any name of the dentist, address and any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Always been using Dr. Jimmy, since 6 years, never had a problem about service, quality and pricing. He speaks very well English.

He has an office in Nathon (daytime 7.30-16.30) and in Chaweng mon - fri 17.30 - 20.00 opposite Focus Market.

Complete rip off was Dr. Porn something in Natien. After agreeing initial price for a crown, upon arrival at the clinic for appointment she just raised the price out of the blue.

On the main road, if you drive into Nathon coming from direction Maenam. It's on the elft side, after you pass the gas station at the entrance of Nathon, other side of the road, maybe 300 meters, on the same block as Nathon Gem

His ph # 077 421 219 and he's also open on sundays from 8.00 - 12.00.

Another vote for this dentist. My wife and I went to Samui in June just for my wife to have 2 new crowns done by her. An old crown came out on our December trip and this dentist did an emergency repair job, my wife was so impressed that she booked an appointment for June on our return to UK after being quoted 4 times the price in UK for new ones :o

She has been very happy with the result and the dentist actually charged LESS than the original quote.

My experience is that Dr. Jimmy charges less than the dentist next to Samui International Hospital.

Unfortunately Dr. Jimmy isn't nearly as cute.

Really? Guess it depends on how much money you appear to have. My brother-in-law went there to get a tooth pulled a few years back and was charged 300 baht (or something like that, can't really remember). He went back about 3 months later to get another tooth pulled but this time wearing a big gold chain and the price was 900!

(and yes, he's Thai)

The whole thing isn't about pulling tooth. It's gonna be long term treatment including replacing bridge so I need implant and bridge specialist. There's one at Samui Dental Home Clinic next to Tesco but availabe on Fridays and Saturdays only which is not that convinient for me.

The dentist next to Inter Samui Hosp did good job for my friends (all of them happy) for 10,000 Baht a tooth with quality material.

Don't know if Dr. Jimmy is that experienced in bridge work.

Voo doo,

don't know about bridges, just had 2 crowns done by him and was very happy with the results. Also with all his otherwork he has done on me.

Why don't you check him out and get your own opinion on him?

Got appointments in all 3 places tomorrow. So let's see what happened.

Jimmy seems to be like typical Thai dentist, haven't seen his equipment yet.

Samui Dental Home Clinic next to Tesco looks like western style one but haven't spoken to the specialist yet.

Samui Inter Hosp >>> I was late, open till 5pm so tomorrow morning.

At least will know tomorrow who is the chosen one...

Thanks to all. Wish me good luck. Will let you know asap.

You never know when you may need one of them ;-)

I can highly recommend Samui Dental Home Clinic next to Tesco.

Dr. Ruth >>> bridge and implant specialist, University teacher in BKK and only in Samui for 2 days a week. Profesional!

Dr. Frisk >>> lovely lady with hands like silk. Painless treatment.

My treatment isn't finished yet so will keep you posted...
