KHAR, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- At least seven people died in a series of bomb blasts in Pakistan on Thursday, officials said. Three militants were also killed, two of them would-be suicide bombers.

Remote controlled explosive devices struck two passenger buses in Pakistan's northwestern Bajaur Agency in the Chamarkand area, security sources told the Nation.

According to reports, the powerful blasts destroyed both buses, killing one person at the scene of the attack, although four others were later reported dead, bringing the death toll to five. Four others were also wounded. However, the death toll could rise as the four injured, who were transported to the Khar Headquarters Hospital, suffered serious injuries, medical officials said.

Security forces and emergency teams arrived quickly at the scene, cordoning off the area and launching an investigation into the attack. Security measures have also been raised in the area.

In a separate incident, two children were killed during a toy bomb explosion on Thursday morning in Khipro, a sub-urban and desert area in the Sanghar district, located in the country's southeastern Sindh Province.

Reports indicate that after finding the toy bomb, a group of children began playing with it until it suddenly detonated. In addition to the two children that died, nine others were reportedly seriously injured during the incident.

Meanwhile, three suspected militants, two would-be suicide bombers, were killed in Swat valley located in the Kyhber- Pakhtunkhwa Province.

Security forces conducted search operations in the Mingora and Siadu Sharif areas of Swat, where curfews had been recently imposed, after local authorities received information about possible suicide bombers.

During the operation, a group of militants reportedly resisted and opened fire against the security forces. Two of the would-be suicide bombers were killed during the violent encounter, which lasted several hours. A third militant blew himself up, and at least one soldier was injured during the exchange of gunfire.

In addition, two other possible suicide bombers were also arrested during the operation. The curfew was imposed to carry out the operation and search for further militants.
