'LEAVING MAGA': Former Trump supporters REVEAL why they left

Dear MAGA Americans,

I was a devoted member of MAGA nation for seven years; it made me feel I was part of something important: a movement that was trying to save American democracy.

But starting in 2021, I realized I had been mistaken. It took me a full year to finally break away. During that time, I came to understand that MAGA is sustained by a series of myths that are intended to create perpetual feelings of desperation and panic.

Succumbing to these predatory myths does not mean you are unintelligent, weak, or lack good character and morals. I have a Bachelor’s degree; have been a working professional my entire life; am a family man; and consider myself a relatively honest and intelligent person. I think the same about you.

I understand the reasons you have for supporting MAGA. And I know many of us traveled different paths to get there. I gravitated to Donald Trump because I have always been suspicious of our two-party system, and I saw him as the right man at the right time.

I have a sense that some of you have quietly left MAGA already, or are increasingly regretful, confused and scared. All of this can be doubly upsetting, since some of your sincerely-held beliefs may have alienated you from friends and family. That certainly happened to me.

It’s perfectly OK to feel this way; leaving MAGA was a tumultuous roller coaster of a process for me. It may be one of the most difficult endeavors you embark upon. In the end, it brought me an inner peace, and a newfound clarity about what is happening in our beloved country.

I founded this organization, Leaving MAGA, because I wanted to create a safe, non-judgmental community for those who leave MAGA, as well as for those who are having doubts about, or remorse over, their devotion to Trump and MAGA.

Our Leaving MAGA community will celebrate how acknowledging mistakes empowers you and America.

It’s difficult for a democracy to function well when millions are estranged from those closest to them.

You do not deserve to have your anxieties about change exploited. You deserve to know the truth. And with Leaving MAGA, you don’t have to feel you would be alone if you leave the movement.

Leaving MAGA is possible. Recognizing that we were wrong, and acting on that knowledge, makes us all more invested in democracy and in the continued work of perfecting our union. Contact us here if you want to talk.

Sincerely, and humbly yours,

Rich

Looks good at a glance......but do any of these countries allow you to wander around the shopping mall with an AK47 and full tactical gear?

Leave MAGA and go where? Become a socialist?

Open borders, abolish ICE and Police, close prisons, raise taxes super high to give money to illegals, DEI, supporting candidates who have had a Nazi symbol tattoo on their chest for 18 years, confiscating private property, using tax dollars to give gender surgery to minors, is that what you want me to support? I don't think so.

I don't like Trump at all, but the other side is worse.

With the humiliation in Ormuz that has become a laughing stock of the US Military and all the oil prices that are soaring all over the world, Trump and the Republicans are loosing and are going to loose global support and domestic support. Not to mention the trillions of dollars given to the regime in Ukraine that is making things worse. As for his absurd customs taxes on imported goods, it is harming many US businesses who will no longer support the Republicans. Trump needs to open up the market for Russian and Iranian oil fast and stop his absurd customs tax tarifs on Europe, UK and Switzerland or else the Republicans are going to get ousted very soon from power.

What's that got to do with leaving MAGA?

Funny how a lot of the people in the video (and other ones) say that when they stopped watching fox news only and expanded their news sources the brainwashing went away. Maybe fox is using subliminal mind control.

Glad you didn't 'mention the trillions' otherwise I would have to say that, without evidence, 'that is making things' up.

If you want to leave any cult, you need to leave behind the constant messaging and pressure. That is difficult nowadays with all manner of social media designed to constantly reinforce your (previous) prejudices.

My daughter, her husband, my sister in law and niece and nephew, were (are) Trump supporters. I wouldn't get into it with my daughter and son in law as I didn't want an argument about politics between us, but i did tell them how I felt, seeing I've been neutral and just watch and wait to see what happens.

They did know about his speaking, narcissism, and rich favoring but didn't realize how deep that goes and how it affects decisions in a president's life, along with obviously others. All through the first and part of the second tenure I bit my tongue and just let them see for themselves.

Now my daughter and son in law hate him, call him a liar and con man, but do know what good things he's done. No support anymore and I told them I just bit my tongue all along.

As far as my sister in law and her two grown kids, they're still on his side large, as well as a best friend I've known since 1970, all still in New Jersey. Eventually we'll all see the endgame of what he's done and is doing, and will look back and know what type of choice the voters made, while a new president is in charge, picking up the pieces of Trump's reign, or adding more to the new tenure, either good , bad or both.

The US sure needs some effective third parties. Both Repubs and Dems aren't different enough the make a difference. Not a statesman between them.

My experience in Canada. We had one effective third party, the New Democrats vs the Liberals and the Progressive Conservatives (whew!). They've moved far to the middle to protect their voters. Homogenised, The Greens are pretty electable but not enough so as to form a coalition govt. The other third parties are province-based, like Bloc Quebecois. Canada needs a new electable third party.

Smart folks who possess enough awareness to be critical of ridiculous policies and major failures.

Criticism and open mindedness is what independent thinkers engage in, and it sets them apart from dogmatic subjects of a wannabe king. I invite you to reflect on that for just a moment.

With many people, once they got attached to a theory, it was hard to get them detached. They’d screen out unhelpful facts, invent favorable ones, and ignore contradictions in their own claims. Look at those Sandy Hook, multiple fraud convictions, and Jan. 6th truthers, babbling about false flags and crisis actors and all the rest. When people were motivated enough to believe something, they were going to believe it no matter what. There was no such thing as a bridge too far.

Please don't tell me you're naive enough to believe this was really written by a MAGA fan boy. 😃

It's literally dripping in Liberal tears. 😃

Trump was a bait n switch demoralisation campaign.
Nothing wrong with wanting an end to the swamp, systemic corruption, foreign wars, massive money printing, BLM, LGBTQRSTUV, cultural marxism and unlimited immigration etc though.
MAGA stood for the right things but was co opted/led by a POS.
Americans, Euros and Brits aren't going to vote themselves out of these problems.

I can't believe Zuckerberg is letting that happen. But good news if it alleviates some of the brainwashing. That is what social media does after all.

Pierre is my definition of a PM--a peacemaker, not PC, wore floor-length mink coats, Margaret smuggled a kilo of has back from their state visit to Lebanon! Lester Pearson was bad, either--another peacemaker.

Yes a 3rd party !

A small 3rd party can have the power to block anything.

It needs the right people though.

People with integrity not bought/blackmailed by Big xxxx and israel.

Where are you going to find them ?

Looks like the video in the OP was in response to Trump's earlier Truth Social post from a few days ago:

i wonder if this new lot of media creature trump haters will be more effective than the last bunch of paedos and cucks
