Multiple Entries To Uk On A Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hi

Apologies if this has been covered already but I could not see it on here when I looked...My question is this...

My GF is coming here on 16 December (3rd time) on a tourist visa, we are going to Morocco for New Year and I would then like her to come again in late May or early June for a couple of weeks. Is it possible that these three entries can be done on one visa? Or would she have to apply for another visa for the spring trip.

Furthermore if it can be done on one visa is it necessary to advise the embassy she is planning to come here again in May / June.

Thank you

If the visa is still valid (they are usually valid for 6 months from the date of issue) and has the word 'MULT' on it, then it is a multiple entry visa, so yes, she can use it for the trip in May if the start date on it is in December.

Seeing as it will be near the end of the validity, I think that she should have a return ticket.

If she is about to apply for the visa, she should ask that it start from say, the 15th Dec ( I believe that they will only postpone the start of the validity by 3 months) so she should time the application accordingly so that it will remain valid for the spring trip.

If she has already been issued the visa, and it is valid for 6 months, then it will have run out by May so she will need to get another one.

There are visas with longer validity, they are more expensive, and they do not guarantee that they will issue them. They say that they may issue one with shorter validity instead, but seeing as your g/f has had 2 visas previously, she may well be successful and that might be her best option.

Here's a link to some of the UKBA guidance on multiple entry visas.
