Jetstar To Avalon

Featured Replies

Hi there

This is one for the Aussies I guess. Before I start, I'm out in the boonies of Issan and the inter net is an on again, off again thing. Anyway been trying to find a cheap trip home for Xmas, now I believe jetstar has fights to Avalon, but it seems you can't book Thailand to OZ return only OZ to Thailand. Anybody know how you can, or any suggestions on a cheap airline going to Melb or Avalon. I'm in the Ubon district and can flight to BKK or Phuket. Thanks in advance and any help much appreciated. Jim

Jetstar - Bkk - Mel - Bkk

Can book on line, or at any travel agent in Thailand.

Bkk-Mel-Bkk is through Tullamarine. I am not sure ,but my feeling is that you can go Phuket -Avalon- Phuket. Is it worth the travel to Phuket?. Certainly Avalon is far more convenient for you. In more was than one. I don't like Tulla.

Thank you soundman that is the site I have been looking for. FA Phuket Avalon is good for us as there is a direct Ubon Phuket flight and Geelong is home. Jim

There is no direct Phuket to Avalon flight. U have to transit via Sydney and get a domestic Jetstar flight SYD to Avalon. Same going back.

And these flights are not cheap over Xmas/NewYear.

Better then BKK to Melb, 2 kids and a stop over on Syd no good. My net is too slow to get the site to work, but will be in Ubon Sat, and will have a look at the prices then. Thanks again. Jim

I am from Melbourne and no way would I go via Avalon it is in the middle of nowhere (closer to Geelong than Melbourne) and will cost you an arm and leg to get back into Melbourne on the bus or taxi.

try www.cheaptickets.co.th or www.momondo.com for cheap flights.

Thanks for the web sites Barry, will have a look on Sat when in Ubon. Avalon is good for me as Geelong is home. Jim

You should also look at Strategic Airlines for Phuket to Melbourne(Tulla) return.

Strategic have child fares whereas Jetstar do not as far as I can see.

May work out a bit cheaper but u should book it soon as fares will only get dearer as Christmas approaches.

Not a lot of flights start / end at Avalon - not even many AU cities

You are either into Sydney and transfer via domestic, or into Tullamarine and take a road trip

Maybe the rellies can hire a Van for the trip to/ from Melb - might be cheaper and easier than transitting in Sydney

Sorry Jim I forgot people lived in Geelong. Actually I have two good friends Living in Geelong. Good luck finding cheap flights.

If the rains don't stop, so I can make some money, I will not have to worry about Xmas in OZ. will just have to have one here.

Thanks for the help all. Jim
