Police rescue woman held Hostage over unpaid lottery debt in Na-Jomtien

PATTAYA: -- A Thai woman who was unable to pay a gambling debt was abducted and held for ransom and then rescued by Police. Na-Jomtien Police Station received a complaint from Khun Supadar aged 51 that her sister, Khun Yupadee aged 41 had been kidnapped by a man who runs an underground lottery. She further revealed that her sister had borrowed 204,000 Baht from the man with a condition of paying a further 40,000 Baht in interest. She was unable to pay and on the night of 22nd September, Khun Yupadee was forcibly taken from her house in the Na-Jomtien area by three people, one of which is the man who was owed the 244,000 Baht. On Wednesday morning, Police organized an operation to rescue the kidnapped woman and provided Khun Supadar with a bag containing the money. On Wednesday morning, Police organized an operation to rescue the kidnapped woman and provided Khun Supadar with a bag containing the money.

This doesn't make any sense whatsoever, can anyone explain it please.

The sister of the kidnap victim, who made the police complaint, was given the traditional marked bills by Mr Plod and the Keystone Cops to pay the thug, then hid in the shadows to see what would happen.
