Hi there,

I am from the UK and I have got a 6 month 3 x 2 month tourist visa that is nearly coming to an end. My wife is due to give birth in November, I am going to get a 30 day extension in pattaya to my visa but this will only take me up to the middle of November when the wife is due to give birth late November.

What are my options on getting a new visa please and where can I get them from? Do I have to leave Thailand and go back home? Really worried I might miss the birth of my baby.

I am 29 years old and I dont work in Thailand if that helps anything.

Can anyone offer me any advice?

Kind Regards

Al

If you are legally married to a Thai you can obtain an additional 60 day extension of stay to visit from Immigration - wife will need to go with you and have marriage proof.

By how much do you want to prolong your stay? If you were to leave Thailand when your visa expires and re-enter by air without a visa, you would get an entry stamp for 30 days at the airport, which presumably would take you beyond the expected birth-date.

Other option if legally married is to obtain a 1yr extension based on marriage providing you meet the required financial criteria etc.

You need only report each 90 days after that. Sorts things out for you for the next 12 months even if travelling back and forth.
