Dual Citizen Advise

Featured Replies

HI every body...

I would like to borrow the experience of the people with dual nationality or people that knows about it.

I have the following questions:

1) I have heard and read that if you have two passport let say Thai and XX. If I travel from Thailand to country XX. I would check out and IN in Thailand with my Thai passport, and IN and out in country XX with my XX passport.

Question. If I book an air ticket (round trip) under which passport should it be issued to?

( I should also include that XX do not allow dual citizenship.)

- I presume I could book the ticket under my XX passport and show XX passport at the ticket counter so they will not ask about visa. And going through passport control show my Thai.

2) Question. When I then enter Country XX, will the pass control look for a exit stamp. From what I have read they do not, as many countries does not give a exit stamp.

- Furthermore, does the passport control entry and exit control cross check the flight ticket passport number with the passport you provide?

- Does the passport control cross check with the passenger list, to confirm from which country you came from?

3) when I will return to Thailand I have to provide the ticket counter in country XX that I can stay in Thailand, so I will show them my Thai passport. Will that be a problem. I mean as the country do not allow it. Is it the duty of the airlines to control that? Or can I just them, and exit on my XX passport in country XX.

4) If I were to apply for a visa for the country XX so I will only use my Thai passport for the whole travel, would I be able to do that as countries do not allow to enter on foreign passports. And would the passport control be able to cross check the new passport (Thai) with the old one (country XX) as the name in both passports are the same?

Thanks you all very much

irst check if dual nationality really is a problem. A lot of countries allow it, others only allow it in case you are born with two nationalities and soem simply don't alow it.
