Are you saying the one in Pantip plaza is no good. Not really looking for a specialist just a shop with the equipment to test hearing and supply suitable hearing aids. I believe that hearing aids are made to order and are not a stock item.

Are you saying the one in Pantip plaza is no good. Not really looking for a specialist just a shop with the equipment to test hearing and supply suitable hearing aids. I believe that hearing aids are made to order and are not a stock item. Hearing aids require to be set at the correct levels and frequencies for each ear, as determined by testing. Should you opt for the moulded ear-piece/s, which in my mind are far superior to any other type, those moulds will have to be custom-made as well. So yes, whilst the aids are off-the-shelf, the setting and the moulds are specific for each of your ears. I would recommend that you look at the "over-the-ear" type of aid. It is very much easier to adjust for different conditions. Also less expensive. Pantip plaza has Siemens hearing aids - a good brand. I'm not sure what testing facilities they have. I am told that Ram Hospital also provides a good service but I cannot vouch for this. Good luck. Cheers.
