Jai Dee Posted November 10, 2005 Share Posted November 10, 2005 PHRAE PROVINCE TO INVEST 320 MILLION BAHT TO DEVELOP ITS AIRPORT PHRAE (แพร่) Province will spend 320 million baht in developing its airport together with urging airlines to operate in the province in order to comply with the provincial tourism strategies. PHRAE Deputy Governor SUKITJA KARUNANON (สุกิจจา กรุณานนท์) presided over a meeting to discuss ways to develop the local airport. The meeting was held at WIANG KOSAI (เวียงโกศัย) conference room at the provincial City Hall of PHRAE Province. Director-General of Civil Aviation Department CHAISAK ANGSU-WAN (ชัยศักดิ์ อังค์สุวรรณ) was presented in the meeting and suggested ways to develop the airport in order to support large aircrafts after the plan had been halted since January 2004. Mr. SUKITJA said the preliminary discussions were about the extension of runways and the provision of three flights per week. Such developments would lead to social and economic efficiencies of the province. In addition, the tourism industry in the province would be augmented The Deputy Governor added that the budget of 320 million baht would be allocated for the development plan. The budget would be used for purchasing 84 RAI of land. The additional land will be used for the extension of runways and to improve the aircraft parking space. The plan has been designed to support Boeing 737-400 aircrafts.
